Bulgaria

I visited Bulgaria five years ago and spent there whole two weeks. My holidays in Golden Sands were great. The village where I stayed, Golden Sands, guarantees a lot of entertainment. There are plenty of restaurants, local taverns, cafes, clubs and bars. It’s alive 24h. There is also a very long and clean beach but you have to remember about jellyfishes. As far as Bulgarian cuisine is concerned, you can sample different delicious dishes in local taverns. I recommend spicy soups – czorby, casseroles consisting of vegetables and meat – musaki, strong, specially prepared coffee – d¿ezwe and sweet soft drink – boza. Lovers of some stronger drinks would be interested in rakija – strong vodka made from plums.

Croatia

Croatia is somehow similar to Bulgaria. The standards are similar but holidays in Croatia are more expensive. I spent my holidays in Karlobag, lovely medieval village, surrounded by the mountains. The Croatian people are very friendly and open. Karlobag’s not a recreative place but you can found some nice cafes and restaurants. It’s Karlobag where I’ve drunk the most delicious vanilla café in my life. The only drawback of that place is the wind called bora. It can be dangaerous sometimes.
